Hatcher Pass

So on Mother's Day we took a trip up the road to Hatchers Pass. It was only about a 10 mile drive, but a beautiful one at that. The ground at our cabin had been baren of snow for over a week now, but there was lots of snow to be seen at the pass.
This is the view looking out towards the valley from our sledding location.
The bad thing about going sledding. . .getting to the top.
Lets say the snow was melting fast, so each step we took we all sank to our waste and by the time we left that day we were all soaking wet.

But we sure had fun! This is Eric trying to pull Tater out of the snow.
After a hard crash it was hard work getting pulled back out of the snow.
As you can see in this picture, Tater is buried in snow, or can you see him?

This is Tater trying to help pull Eric out of the snow. . .that one was tricky.

Finally a good run. . .watch out Buford, mad snow driver comin' by.

Tater taking a look around to see how far he made it this time.

And they just flew on by, without even stopping to get me!

After we were done sledding Eric dug a snow tunnel. This is Tater peering out of the snow tunnel. Kind of hard to tell it is a snow tunnel, but that is what it is.
Our great weekend ended in celebrating not only Mother's Day, but also my birthday.
Tater decorated this cake all by himself just for the occasion.
It was very beautiful and very delicious.
